RECREATION COMMISION PROGRAMS


The Recreation Department is under the direction of Councilwoman Lori Spotts and is a non-profit service agency for PASD citizens.

For more information regarding these programs, call City Hall at 622-1234 Ext. 346 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

 
2012 SUMMER PROGRAMS
*CITY CYCLE 17*
    SATURDAY, JULY 28 (rain or shine)

    Children's Fun Race - 9AM
    • Registration – 8:30 AM, 12th & Laurel Tricycle race for age 4 and under
    • Age Groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-11, 12-14
    • Course: Begins at 12th & Laurel, west ¾ mile to 16th
    • Prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd – Boy & Girl in each age group
    • Entrance Fee: $3.00 includes T-shirt
    • Free refreshments following last race

    Helmets required. Written parental consent required.

    Adult Race – 10:00 AM
    • Registration – 8:30-9:30 AM – Martz Hall
    • Course: Approximately 17 miles (see map), 5 loops
    • Entrance Fee: $20 includes T-shirt (first 50)
    • Team* Fee: $50 in addition to individual fee
      *Team consists of 4 or more cyclists, only top 4 times are used to calculate finish place
    • Prizes: Overall: 1st-$100, 2nd-$75, 3rd-$50, 4th-$40, 5th-$30, 6th-$20; 1st Each Age Group: $10; 1st Female: $25; 2nd Female: $10; Oldest Racer: $10; Team: $100 and 1st place trophy
    • Free refreshments following race

    Helmets required – Gloves recommended

    Tuesdays and Thursdays
    Games will be played at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 AM.
    Each player will play at one of those designated times.
    Players receive a team t-shirt to be worn at each game.
    The teams will not have coaches, park staff will supervise, referee and oversee games.
